Certifications

Ivan Fairless is an approved contractor certified by NIC EIC. They following are frequently asked questions about this accreditation and what it means in terms of quality assurance for our customers.

Who is the NIC EIC?

NIC EICThe National Inspection Council for Electrical Installation Contracting (NIC EIC) is the independent consumer safety regulatory body for the electrical contracting industry. It's sole purpose is to protect users of electricity against unsafe and unsound electrical installations.

The BBC's "Rogue Traders" program recently named NIC EIC approved electricians as the tradesmen to trust because of the NIC EIC's stringent regulations and thorough inspections.

You can find out more about the NIC EIC on their web site: http://www.niceic.org.uk/

How does it protect consumers?

The NIC EIC maintains a register (Roll) of electrical contractors it has approved. NIC EIC Approved Contractors are inspected annually to check that they meet the Council's safety standards. By using an Approved Contractor you are assured that the work carried out is safe.

Is there an NIC EIC complaints procedure ?

Yes. If a customer and an Approved contractor are unable to resolve a dispute about an alleged deficiency in the standard of electrical work, a complaint may be registered with the NIC EIC by the customer. Where a complaint is substantiated. the deficiency is rectified at no additional cost to the consumer.
